Sample Referee Letters

Referees’ letters will accompany the application.  Both must be suitably qualified and experienced industry referees.  At least one of the referees should have the qualifications or experience relevant to the applicant’s proposed grade.  In these testimonials, the referees, who are familiar with the applicant’s qualifications and experience, will be substantiating these.  Make sure that the letter contains details for ready contact in the event that clarification or verification is required.

I am happy to attest to the qualifications and experience of (name).  I understand that he/she is applying for certification under The Institute’s Quarry Management Certification System as (select Manager or Supervisor).

I have known the applicant since (insert a year) in a (select personal and / or professional) capacity and have that level of familiarity with his/her qualifications and experience.  In particular, my relationship with the applicant has been as (select supervisor / peer / direct report / organizational colleague / industry counterpart / personal friend).  In making this testimonial, I (select have / have not) been directly involved with his/her development of required knowledge, skills and/or experience and the enhancement of those. 

I am of the view that he/she is up-to-date in both knowledge and skills and experience and is suitable for recognition by the Board of their manager/supervisor status.  In my view they conduct themselves in accordance with The Institute’s Code of Conduct.
