What are the qualification requirements?

The CP Board has set the following qualification and experience criteria for accreditation as Certified Practitioners.

Certified Practicing Quarry Supervisors (CPQS)

Anyone seeking Certified Practicing Quarry Supervisor status must hold MNQ40103 Certificate IV in Extractive Industries Operations or another qualification recognised by the CP Board as equivalent or higher.
They must also, at the time of application, be currently competent in the unit HLTFA1A - Apply Basic First Aid (or an equivalent approved unit of competence) issued by a Registered Training Organisation.

Certified Practicing Quarry Managers (CPQM)

Anyone seeking Certified Practicing Quarry Manager status must hold a MNQ50103 Diploma of Extractive Industries Management or another qualification recognised by the CP Board as equivalent or higher.
They must also, within the last ten years, have been assessed as competent in the unit HLTFA1A - Apply Basic First Aid (or an equivalent approved unit of competence) issued by a Registered Training Organisation.

Certification for Sites Involving the Use of Explosives

Anyone seeking to become Certified Practicing Quarry Supervisors or Managers for sites involving the use of explosives must hold a shotfirers’ or users’ licence.
